A Brief Biography
Smashing Dreams are a heavy rock/alternative band formed in São Paulo, South East Brazil, in 2016 by good friends and songwriters Victor Dehé and Daniel Stunges.
Band members include:
Victor Dehé - lead vocals and guitars
Daniel Stunges - guitars
Lucas Ribeiro - drums and backing vocals
Octave pedals and split signals for Guitar and Bass amplifiers fill out the the band's low, medium and high tones. Even though they see themselves as a heavy rock/alternative band, their influences span among a variety of different subgenres that blend into each other from song to song. An amalgamation of punk and surf rock, for example, appears in one song, while the 70's Hard Rock style appears in another.
Early 2018, the band began the ground work for their first album which consisted of 8 original tracks. It was an independent production all the way through that launched November 9th of the same year. The album had one single, "Looks Real", which played on 89.1FM, the biggest rock radio station of Brazil. This really propelled the band's popularity in Brazil's rock scene, and throughout 2019 they played with bands such as Dance of Days, Dead Fish, Garage Fuzz and, of course, the heavy hitters Claustrofobia, which had just played in Rock in Rio the week before.
In 2020, the Brazilian power trio launches their newest single "Guillotine", together with a music video, to hit all major platforms on January 31st. The track is heavily influenced by the rise of the far-right throughout the world, and the destructive power it brings with it.
